The property is located in the quiet hillside area of Pino, above the lake.

A private garage/parking space is available for our guests, so you do not need to look for parking.

Having a car is highly recommended during your stay, as it makes it much easier to reach the property and explore Varenna and the surrounding Lake Como area.

From the Airports

Il Terrazzo sul Lago can be reached from all three main airports serving the Milan and Lake Como area.

Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP)

By car: approximately 1 hour 30 minutes – 2 hours, depending on traffic.

By public transport: take the Malpensa Express train directly to Milano Centrale. From Milano Centrale, take a train towards Sondrio/Tirano and get off at Varenna-Esino.

From Varenna-Esino station, we recommend taking a taxi or arranging a private transfer to the property, especially if you are travelling with luggage.

Milan Linate Airport (LIN)

By car: approximately 1 hour 20 minutes – 1 hour 40 minutes, depending on traffic.

By public transport: take the M4 Metro from Linate Airport towards central Milan and continue to Milano Centrale. From Milano Centrale, take a train towards Sondrio/Tirano and get off at Varenna-Esino.

From the station, we recommend a taxi or private transfer to the property.

Milan Bergamo / Orio al Serio Airport (BGY)

By car: approximately 1 hour 15 minutes – 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

By public transport: take the Airport Bus from the airport to Bergamo railway station. From Bergamo, travel by train to Lecco and change for a train to Varenna-Esino.

Alternatively, direct airport buses are available between Bergamo Airport and Milano Centrale, from where you can take a train to Varenna.

Taxi & Private Transfer

For guests travelling with several suitcases, children, or arriving in the evening, a private transfer directly from the airport to Il Terrazzo sul Lago can be the most comfortable option.

We recommend booking airport transfers in advance.

Guests arriving by train at Varenna-Esino station should also arrange a taxi in advance, as the property is located in the peaceful hillside area of Pino and we do not recommend walking from the station with luggage.

Our Recommendation

If you plan to explore Lake Como and the surrounding area during your stay, we recommend renting a car directly at the airport.

Il Terrazzo sul Lago has a private garage/parking area, making travelling by car particularly convenient.
